Dinner on the roof

Lanterns, a short menu from the market, and the Koutoubia on the skyline.

Dinner on the roof

Sama, under the sky

Every evening the roof terrace is laid for a few tables. The lanterns are lit at dusk, the call to prayer crosses the rooftops, and dinner begins with seven cooked salads.

The menu is short and changes with the market:

  • Lamb tagine with prunes, almonds and sesame
  • Chicken with preserved lemon and violet olives
  • On Thursdays, mechoui — lamb shoulder roasted slowly and served with cumin salt

Moroccan wines from Meknès and the coast are poured by the glass. Guests of the house have first claim on tables; tell us by four o’clock.
